With the advent of self-financing (private) educational institutions in Kerala, the need for institutions imparting education of international standards has become imperative. The Mary Matha Education Society, a charitable society formed in 1997, was among the pioneers to realise the need of strengthening the education scenario in the state.

Mary Matha College of Engineering & Technology (MMCET) is affiliated to the University of Kerala and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The College is situated at Paliyode, near Neyyattinkara, a bustling township in Thiruvanathapuram district. MMCET, now managed by the prestigious PRS Group, is one of the leading engineering colleges in the private sector in Kerala. It is known for its innovative teaching methodology, it's adept and experienced faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure and an unfettered environment to spur intellectual activity.

Career Guidance & Seminars:

Special lecture meetings and seminars are held regularly, for which experts in various fields from the industry and other institutions are invited to present their views regarding the latest trends and developments in the field of engineering. Students are motivated to handle the seminars and participate in group discussions. Members of the faculty also provide individual guidance and counseling to the students.

At MMCET, we understand the significance of developing the all-round skills of the students to enable them to perform well in Campus Recruitment. The Placement Team assists students in developing their Numerical Aptitude and Soft Skills such as Communication, Team Building, Problem-solving, participation in Group Discussions, Interviewing etc. The Placement Team will organize approximately 60 workshops/ classes per academic year.

The College encourages participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities to bring out the latent talents in its students. The College organizes Literary & Arts festival, Sports events and also facilitates students to compete in events outside campus. Our students have won prizes at Amritha Tv’s ‘Let Us Dance’, Surya Tv’s ‘Rangoli’ and inter-collegiate festivals of other institutions.
Both faculty members and students are encouraged to undertake research activities. As a result of such constant support, young student innovators at MMCET have undertaken successful projects like the Solar-powered Car, Self-starting Irrigation Pump and Automatic Vehicle Reversing Mechanism.
